The Double-Bind

Henry Cloud is quoted as saying, “In the church it is unacceptable to have problems: that it is called being sinful. In an AA group it is unacceptable to be perfect; that is called denial.” How would you answer his question, “Which stance is more biblical”?

This is one of the questions for my upcoming post for my psych class at William Jessup. What is your perspective?

We aren't perfect. To deny that is a lie.

My stance is similar to the other comment, no one is perfect in everyway. So pretending to be perfect in a church setting is unbiblical. I would personally call the AA setting more biblical because they are admitting their faults and striving to mend them, as apposed to pretending they aren't there.

As christian we must be overcommers, but we are not. Most churchs are so far away from the spirit that the flesh rules. Many issues like anger, depressions, homosexuality, fear, are demons. and christians are full of them. When you becaome a chrisians did the pastor clean u up spiritually? I reccomend "They shall cast out demons by Derek Prince. Once theses spitits are gone, these issues you face will be gone. Luke 10:19.
